Welcome

Welcome to the South Dublin Model Railway Club.

The South Dublin Model Railway Club was founded in 1975 to foster the craft of railway modelling in the South Dublin area. In 1976, with very little resources, the club built a layout in 21 days for an exhibition in the Glencree Reconciliation Centre.

In 2001 the Club, with assistance from South Dublin County Council, built new clubrooms in Knocklyon, Tallaght. We now have 400 Sq. Metres of floor space, which incorporates a comprehensive Library of books and magazines on Irish, British and American Railways and of course Model Railways.

The SDMRC welcomes new members (persons over 18). Members meet to operate or work on layouts, meet friends, browse in the Library or talk shop over tea and biscuits. (meeting times-> see About).

We cater for all situations, so whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced modeller you will fit in straight away. If you have any questions about any aspect of the club, feel free to contact us.
